Becoming a developer
From WhitixDoc
Want to help develop Whitix? Here's how:
Contents |
Download the source
Download the source code from the Subversion repository at svn://www.whitix.org/svn/projects/Whitix. You can also download the source code for the latest released version from the website, although the version in the Subversion repository is usually newer and has more features. You will need a POSIX operating system (such as Linux, FreeBSD or others) to compile the source.
Understand the system
A good place to start is the developer manual. If you're interested in programming the kernel, the kernel overview section of the manual should be of use to you. If you prefer creating and porting user applications, the user overview section should help.
Get to know us
Visit us on IRC at #whitix, on freenode.net, or post any queries or concerns you may have with understanding Whitix to the developers mailing list. The developers can always suggest small changes or projects for new developers.
